BIMOTA MOTORCYCLES

Bimota is an Italian motorcycle company that was founded by Bianchi, Morri and Tamburini. The company name is a portmanteau derived from the first two letters of each of the three founders' surnames, i.e. BIanchi MOrri TAmburini.

Each Bimota motorcycle is hand assembled by a single person.

Bimota set a land speed record on September 26, 1998, at 202.247 mph. The 200 mile per hour barrier was broken for the first time by a gasoline powered, normally aspirated motorcycle.

Bimota has won 44 Grand Prix.
