Excelsior was Britains first motorcycle manufacturer.
Started out producing penny-farthings in 1874, then motorcycles in 1896.
In 1910, the name of the company was changed to Excelsior Motor Co.
The Walker family took control of Excelsior after World War 1.
In 1964, Excelsior produced its last motorcycle.
In 1965 it closed.
During the 1970`s, Britax, bought the name and produced a limited numbers of Britax-Excelsior machines.
